🕉️ Varalakshmi Vratam Puja Vidhi
Clean the home and decorate the puja area with flowers, rangoli and traditional decorations.
Prepare and decorate the kalash according to your family tradition using water, mango leaves and a coconut.
Decorate the Goddess with flowers, turmeric, kumkum, traditional clothing and ornaments.
Prepare traditional sweets and other offerings according to your family customs and offer them to the Goddess.
Light the lamps and offer flowers, turmeric and kumkum while praying to Goddess Lakshmi with devotion.
Devotees may recite Lakshmi Ashtottara Shatanamavali, Lakshmi Ashtakam or other traditional prayers.
📖 Varalakshmi Vrat Katha
According to traditional Hindu lore, Goddess Parvati asked Lord Shiva about a sacred vratam that could bring prosperity and happiness to families.
Lord Shiva explained the significance of Varalakshmi Vratam and narrated the story of a devoted woman named Charumathi. Goddess Lakshmi appeared to Charumathi in a dream and guided her to observe the Varalakshmi Vratam.
Charumathi performed the vratam with devotion, and other women joined her in the worship. The traditional story describes the blessings of Goddess Varalakshmi and teaches the importance of faith, devotion and sincere prayer.
