🌸 The Divine Birth of Lord Krishna 🌸
✨ A Beautiful Krishna Janmashtami Story ✨
Krishna Janmashtami is one of the most sacred festivals celebrated by devotees of Lord Krishna. It marks the divine appearance of Lord Krishna, who came to Earth to protect the righteous, destroy evil, and restore Dharma.
🌙 The Prophecy of Lord Krishna
Long ago, in the beautiful city of Mathura, there lived a cruel king named Kamsa. He was powerful but ruled his kingdom with fear and injustice.
Kamsa's cousin Devaki was married to the noble Vasudeva. During their wedding journey, a divine voice from the heavens announced a prophecy:
Hearing this prophecy, Kamsa became terrified. He imprisoned Devaki and Vasudeva and kept them under strict watch.
✨ The Divine Night
Years passed, and Devaki gave birth to several children. Kamsa, driven by fear, cruelly took their lives.
Then came the sacred night of the eighth child. It was a dark and stormy night. The entire prison was silent, while Devaki and Vasudeva waited for the birth of their child.
At midnight, a radiant divine light filled the prison. Lord Krishna appeared in His divine form.
Krishna instructed Vasudeva to carry Him across the Yamuna River to the village of Gokul, where He would be safe in the home of Nanda and Yashoda.
🌊 Vasudeva Crosses the Yamuna
Miraculously, the prison doors opened and the guards fell into a deep sleep. Vasudeva placed baby Krishna in a basket and began his journey through the storm.
The Yamuna River was overflowing, with powerful waves moving in every direction. Yet Vasudeva continued forward with complete faith in the divine child.
As rain poured down, the great serpent Shesha appeared above Krishna and spread his many hoods like a protective umbrella.
🏡 Krishna Arrives in Gokul
Vasudeva finally reached Gokul. In the home of Nanda and Yashoda, a baby girl had been born.
Vasudeva exchanged the babies and safely returned to the prison with the baby girl.
When Kamsa heard that the eighth child had been born, he rushed to the prison. But the divine child revealed herself as Goddess Yogmaya and warned him that the one destined to end his tyranny was already safe in Gokul.
💙 The Childhood of Krishna
In Gokul, little Krishna grew up surrounded by love, laughter and devotion. He became famous for His playful nature, His love for butter, His beautiful flute and His affection for everyone around Him.
As He grew, Krishna protected the people of Vrindavan and performed many wonderful deeds. Eventually, He returned to Mathura and brought an end to Kamsa's cruel rule.
🪷 The Message of Janmashtami
