A Simple Ramayana Story for Kids
Long ago, King Janaka ruled the beautiful kingdom of Mithila. His daughter, Princess Sita, was known for her kindness, wisdom, and devotion.
King Janaka decided that Sita would marry the prince who could lift and string the mighty Bow of Lord Shiva, also known as Pinaka. Many powerful kings and princes came to the Swayamvara, but none of them could even lift the heavy bow.
At that time, Lord Rama arrived in Mithila with Sage Vishwamitra and his brother Lakshmana. With great respect and humility, Rama walked towards the sacred bow.
Lord Rama easily lifted the mighty bow. As he tried to string it, the bow broke into two pieces with a loud sound that echoed across the kingdom. Everyone was amazed by his strength and divine power.
Princess Sita happily placed a beautiful flower garland around Lord Rama's neck, accepting him as her husband. The people of Mithila celebrated with music, flowers, and great joy.
Soon, the royal wedding of Lord Rama and Sita was celebrated with great happiness. Their marriage became a symbol of love, respect, devotion, and righteousness.
Even today, people remember Sita Swayamvara as one of the most beautiful events in the Ramayana and a reminder that true greatness comes with humility and virtue.
