🌲 Rama's Exile (Vanavasa)

A Simple Ramayana Story for Kids

King Dasharatha decided to crown Lord Rama as the next king of Ayodhya. The entire kingdom celebrated because everyone loved Rama for his kindness, wisdom, and honesty.

Queen Kaikeyi, influenced by her maid Manthara, reminded King Dasharatha of the two promises he had made to her many years earlier.

Kaikeyi asked that her son Bharata should become king and that Lord Rama should live in the forest for 14 years.

King Dasharatha was heartbroken, but he could not break his promise. When Rama heard the news, he accepted his father's decision with a peaceful heart.

Princess Sita chose to accompany Rama because she wanted to stay with her husband through every joy and hardship. Lakshmana also joined them to protect and serve them.

The people of Ayodhya cried as Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana left the kingdom. King Dasharatha was filled with sorrow and later passed away, unable to bear the separation from his beloved son.

During their exile, Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana lived in the forests, facing many challenges with courage, patience, and faith. Their journey became one of the greatest examples of duty and righteousness.
